FILE REF: BX-S01 · SERVICES SHEET
Three sessions for three points in an inquiry
Each is a single written engagement, applied directly to your own material, with a document you keep afterward.
Inquiry File Structure Session
A session on organising an inquiry into a structure that holds up as it grows. We cover dividing material by the question it answers rather than by where it came from, keeping a running index of what is established and what is still open, filing correspondence separately from evidence, and arranging everything so a colleague could pick it up.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
- — One 90-minute session applied to your own material
- — A written file structure to keep
- — An index you can maintain from that point
Collaboration and Handover Practice
Guidance for reporters working with a colleague or handing an inquiry to someone else. We cover documenting the method so the reasoning survives the handover, agreeing who holds which relationships with sources, keeping a single shared record rather than two partial ones, resolving differences over what the evidence supports, and agreeing attribution in advance.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
- — Two one-hour sessions across three weeks
- — A written collaboration note
- — A handover checklist
Investigation Completion Review
A review conducted when an inquiry is near its end, to establish whether it is genuinely finished. We cover checking that every open question has been either answered or explicitly set aside, that the evidence supports the account you intend to publish, that everyone concerned has been approached properly, and deciding what to do about lines that were never resolved.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
- — Three one-hour sessions over a month
- — A written completion note
- — Each decision recorded with its reasoning

We talk through where your inquiry stands and which session fits.
02
Session scheduled
In person in Bungoma or by call, at a time that suits you.
03
Work on your material
We apply the method directly to your own file, not a hypothetical example.
04

You leave with something concrete to keep working from.
Not sure which session fits your inquiry? Tell us where things stand and we'll suggest one.
